MALAGA City is now officially a candidate to become the European Capital of Culture 2016, since the President of the Malaga Ciudad Cultural Foundation, Juan Lopez Cohard, handed in the required paperwork to the Government Office in Malaga. THE CUDECA Walkathon saw 1,000 people of all ages and nationalities gather together on the seafront to raise funds for the foundation. In total, 33,000 euros were raised, which will help to prevent the Cudeca In-patient Unit in Benalmadena from closing.
