THE CUDECA Walkathon saw 1,000 people of all ages and nationalities gather together on the seafront to raise funds for the foundation.

In total, 33,000 euros were raised, which will help to prevent the Cudeca In-patient Unit in Benalmadena from closing. There were three different possibilities for the walk, which could be 10, five or two kilometres.
Among the many dignitaries, local politicians and members of the business community was Cudeca founder, Joan Hunt OBE.

There were live performances including Mel Williams, David Mairs, Jake Waby and Ronald McDonald, as well as a barbecue, paella, tombola, raffle, book stall, face painting, bouncy castle and games for the children.

The winner of the most money raised was for Enrique Gomez from Cajasol with 3,709 euros.
